On February 25th we had 143 projects displayed at our Adelanto Elementary School District Science and Engineering Fair. Over a hundred people came out for the event. This year, we also featured several Makerspaces, which were engineering challenges for students and families to experience. Twelve of our amazing students will advance to the SIM regional fair April 4th and 5th. Below is a list of winners. The students who are advancing to the regional fair are marked with an asterisk (*).
Fun was had by all at Morgan Kincaid's Family Science Night. Science fair projects were on display, winners were announced, and science based activities were available for students and families to participate in.
At this year’s District Science Fair two Adelanto Elementary School Students were recognized! Luis Blanco placed 2nd for 3rd Grade, with “Do Chemicals Affect Freezing Part of Water” and in 3rd Place for 1st Grade, Adam Gulley with “Air Plane.” Go Cougars!
Over 100 projects will be displayed on Saturday, February 27th at the Melva Davis Academy of Excellence. The fair will be open for public viewing from 12:00pm – 1:00pm. The awards ceremony will be from 1:00pm – 3:00pm.
Family Science Night at Morgan Kincaid was a huge success. Activities included rocket building and moon rock viewing. The moon rocks were on loan from NASA. Science Fair Project Awards were given including special awards from Boeing, Mojave Water Agency, and the Air Quality Management District.
On Thursday the 11th of February the students at Donald F Bradach school showed off their science knowledge at the school's annual science fair. This was a particularly good year for projects, as the school saw new experiments that had not been done in previous years. The judges personal favorite was the first place winner in second grade that examined the effects of education on bullying.
