Citizenship Graduation 2017

On Wednesday, April 19, 2017, the Family Engagement Center at Columbia Middle School, with the support of TODEC Legal Center, held a graduation ceremony for our community parents that completed a 10 week preparation class to become U. S. Citizens.

The parents wore a cap and gown, received certificates of completion, and had a potluck with many delicious dishes prepared by the parents.

Family Literacy Night @ Morgan Kincaid

Family Literacy Night at Morgan Kincaid

Morgan Kincaid celebrated Family Literacy Night with a "Reading Is Our Superpower" theme.

This of course included fictional heroes, such as Optimus Prime, and nonfiction superheroes from our community.

Activities included special guest readers, a poetry room, a spotlight on illustrators, a book fair, walking book reports, a book report museum, and our famous book walk.

Over 300 books were given out for free! Fun was had by all!

A big thank you to Trustee Glasper, Jones, and Turner for participating.

College Attire Day @ West Creek Elementary

West Creek College T-shirts

Third graders at West Creek proudly show off their college T-shirts they designed.  After completing research and a presentation, these ambitious 3rd graders designed their own T-shirt to wear every Thursday on College Attire Day!  The T-shirt they wear shows the college they hope to attend someday.  Ask them about their shirt and they will proudly tell you about the college.
