Gate Programs
  • GATE students will receive differentiated instruction from their classroom teachers on an on-going basis to reach their educational needs.
  • GATE students will work toward achieving their full potential through school site-based and after school enrichment activities.
  • Parents will be informed of the gate testing that occurs through the district.
  • Parents will be notified through a letter when their students are placed in GATE.
  • School Staff will receive on-going information and training on differentiated instruction that focuses on key strategies geared toward GATE students.
  • Each school will decide how to use funds for any enrichment programs they choose to offer.

American Association of Gifted Children The American Association for Gifted Children (AAGC) is the nation's oldest advocacy organization for gifted children. It was established in the late 1940's.
California Association for the Gifted The California Association for the Gifted has many resources including memberships, scholarships and professional development programs designed to assist GATE students in California.
The National Association of Gifted Children NAGC is a non-profit organization of parents, teachers, educators, other professionals and community leaders who unite to address the unique needs of children and youth with demonstrated gifts and talents as well as those children who may be able to develop their talent potential with appropriate educational experiences.
John Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth CTY conducts the nation's oldest and most extensive academic talent search and offers educational programming for students with exceptionally high academic ability.

National Research Center on the Gifted and Talented (NRC/GT) The NRC/GT is funded by the Jacob K. Javits Gifted and Talented Student Education Act to conduct research and recommended policies related to GATE students from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
