ICA Additional Support Session 1

This session is for teachers from: MKP, ERE, VME, DFB, WC, CMS, and MLMS
Melva Davis on Mon, Feb 8th, teachers in grades 3-8 who attended training to score the ICA's and would like additional support to score.

Coordinators will be available to assist teachers in all aspects of scoring their ICA's
Teachers who are not finished and would like to work together with the Coordinators of Curriculum to receive additional training and calibration may attend and will be paid up to two hours.
Teachers will be scoring their own students’ data for the training and calibration.

After scoring the CAASPP ICA's, it made us more aware of how the writing and Math PT's are being scored on the CAASPP.  Many teachers asked for additional teaching resources that can be used to help prepare students for the CAASPP Summative. Resources have been organized for both ELA and Math for grades 3-8.

Coordinators will provide a list of available resources for each grade level and show teachers how to access these resources easily.

Teachers who pre-register will be given samples of grade level materials.

Science and Engineering Implementation and the James Webb Space Telescope

Please join us for our follow-up session. Teachers will share and discuss their progress with implementing the science and engineering shift in their classroom. Also, Julie Taylor, a former AESD teacher and currently an educational consultant for the Space Telescope Science Institute, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the Goldstone Apple Valley Radio Telescope will share information on her current project the James Webb Space Telescope STEM Project and GAVRT.
